MIRA Analysis (Master Report)

Overview

The MIRA Analysis view provides advanced financial insights beyond traditional reports. It uses business rules and historical data to analyze your financial health across three main dimensions: Efficiency, Security, and Purpose.

Core Reports

Efficiency Report

Focuses on how you allocate your income and how much it costs to sustain your lifestyle. - 50/30/20 Mix: Analyzes your spending against the popular rule of thumb: 50% for Needs, 30% for Wants, and 20% for Savings. - Expense-to-Income Ratio: Shows how much of your income is consumed by operating expenses. - Daily Living Cost: Calculates your average daily expenditure for the selected period.

Security Report

Measures your financial resilience and safety net. - Days of Autonomy: Estimates how many days you could sustain your current lifestyle if your income were to stop today, based on your current balances and spending patterns. - Month Status: Classifies the period as a surplus, deficit, or balanced month.

Purpose Report

Tracks your progress toward long-term objectives. - Goal Completion Index: A percentage representing how well you are meeting your defined savings goals. - Goals Headline: A summary of your current progress on active savings targets.

MIRA Advisor

The MIRA Advisor is an automated narrative builder that provides context for your numbers. It compares the current month against: - The previous month. - The 3-month and 6-month averages. - Your active budget (if one exists for the period).

The advisor highlights anomalies, such as unusual spending in a specific category or budgeted income that hasn't been received yet.

Income Flow Waterfall

The Waterfall chart visualizes how your total net income is distributed. It shows the flow from income through various expense categories, savings allocations, and financing (debt or prior savings usage) to reach the final monthly balance.

  • Surplus: If income exceeds expenses, the chart ends with a positive monthly balance.
  • Deficit: If expenses exceed income, the chart shows how financing (debt or savings) covered the gap.
  • Balanced: Income and operating expenses offset each other perfectly.

Interactive Drilldown

The view includes interactive sections for Top Categories and Top Tags. Clicking on a category or tag allows you to see a detailed breakdown of the underlying transactions and subcategories.

YTD and Trend Charts

  • YTD (Year To Date): A line chart showing the cumulative trend of income, expenses, net balance, and savings throughout the current year.
  • Time Trend: A stacked bar chart showing the composition of income or expenses over several months, allowing you to identify seasonal patterns.
